A miscellany of nonsense

Baby Steps

I’m growing up a little. I’ve finally made it all night through a party without blacking out or throwing up. Yes, I know that nursing Mike’s Hard Lemonades isn’t exactly manly, but it’s not my fault that most beers smell (and probably taste) like formaldehyde. Even so, if I plug my nose, I can down almost anything you pour in my pong cup. Just keep that Guinness a mile away from me.

Ok, so what’s the proper way to dispose of one’s man card? I probably will never be worthy enough to use it.

A bug in the rug.

I’m in a social media lull right now. My sister got beat up last night, so I’m not feeling much else besides distilled rage toward the lowlife, cunty slut who decided it’d be fun to mangle poor Layla’s face.

It pains me to hear my sister’s muffled cries in the bathroom as she’s combing out a good chunk of her hair. She’s graduating from college Saturday. She finally did something that she is moderately proud of, yet now she has to show up and deal not with smiles, but pity looks.

The Reservation is not a good place to live. In daylight it’s amiable, but the cold-hearted Neanderthals come out at night to booze/shoot/drug up, vandalize, steal stuff, and let their toddler-like maturity levels dictate their actions.

3 Words: 3 Songs

Each of my ‘3 words’ posts was extracted from my iPod. It was completely coincidental that some of my most cherished favorites have titles of only 3 words (well, the movement titles anyway).

• Poulenc: Sonata for 2 Clarinets: II. Andante: Très Lent http://bit.ly/li3wIr

• Vaughan Williams: String Quartet No. 2 in A minor. IV. Epilogue: Andante Sostenuto http://bit.ly/kox7yj

• Pavel Chesnokov: Salvation is Created (Spaseniye Sodelal) http://bit.ly/j6fLOD

• Vaughan Williams: The Lark Ascending. ~ I couldn’t find the performance by Hilary Hahn (the other ones just don’t have quite the same effect on me)

Just so you know, I’m a classical musician, so these videos are of said genre. Still, I post them to show just how much emotion, power, and discipline can be behind a mere 3 words.

You don’t even have to watch any of them; I’m sharing to, if naught else, pique one’s curiosity or satiate one’s boredom.

Moral of the story: Watch your tongue.

You down with O.P.P.?

I’m not, but my phone apparently is. All this time, you thought Bluetooth was only for voice calls.

(P.S. I’m always around my phone, so I know that ‘it ain’t gettin’ ANY.’)

Q:You were convicted of a crime you WERE guilty of and served 18 months in prison. You've just been let out & in your return items are a pair of tickets to a reunion concert of several 70s rockstars, among them Ace Frehley. What do you do with them?

aldricnewberry

I’m more of an “80’s, 90’s, and Today’s” baby; I’d sell the tickets to someone more appreciative. As for the money: I’ll give it to anybody who is willing to do the rest of my homework for the rest of this semester, starting right now. Hurry up, potential taker; I gots some procrastinating to do!

I wanna be a kid.

I’m so glad that my semester is almost over. I can’t be totally happy though, for I still have yet to pay the college my tuition and fees. I need a loan, which needs a decent job to pay back, which in turn will introduce new expenses into my life.

I wanna be a kid again! Kids don’t have to worry about anything except getting allowance and candy and stuff.

Totally cynical, by the way. I’d rather grow up and pay bills than be stuck here, jobless and without a car, in my childhood home with my father, having to put up the false impression that I’m going to live here for the rest of my life like he thinks.

I’ve made up my mind long ago that living on the Rez isn’t what I want to do for the rest of my life. I’m just having trouble going through with this plan of action right now. Thanks for easing the burden, Tumblr.
